You Believe?
I read this quote today and am finding myself wondering if I believe it. What do you guys think?
Hermann Hesse
"If you hate a person, you hate something in him that is part of yourself. What isn't part of ourselves doesn't disturb us."

That quote is probably true. I don't like it. L
Yeah, I think I'm with you. I hate that!
I have realized this to some degree about myself. When I have a big dislike of someone it does sometimes reflect a weakness in me or something I struggled with or recognize. I tend to agree that it sounds true. I don't want to completely commit to that answer though. ouch.
I think this is generally correct. By that I mean there are people who have qualities about them that I, if I have to be around them too much, I can learn to hate! Others, however, have such outrageous behavior, that I can't imagine I see something in them that I want....
Hate is a pretty strong word....I willingly admit to being jealous more often than hating. Not that jealousy is any more healthy than hate....just thinking out loud.
Good discussion!
